RECOVERY ESSENTIALS & PREP FOR HOME
Recovery Essentials & Prep for Home
Getting comfortable at home after surgery took a little planning. These are the products I personally used to make everyday recovery easier, from setting up my resting space to getting back to pool time.
Setting Up Your Recovery Space
Pillows, positioning, and practical comforts for the first days back home.
Adjustable Wedge Pillow System
Personally UsedI used this adjustable wedge pillow system when recovering in bed after my facelift, and again during my thigh-lift recovery. Having different ways to prop myself up made it easier to find a comfortable resting position.

Personally UsedI used this knee support wedge during my thigh-lift recovery to help position my legs while resting. This one was specifically part of my thigh-lift setup.

Personally UsedI set up a recovery spot on my couch chaise after my thigh lift, and this pillow helped support me while I sat up to read or relax. It was part of making the living room comfortable without having to stay in bed.

Personally UsedHaving a movable table close by gave me a convenient spot for everyday essentials while I was resting. It is the kind of practical item I appreciate when getting up and down takes extra effort.

Grabber Reacher Tool
Personally UsedBending and reaching are not always easy after surgery. I kept a grabber nearby so I could pick up little things without stretching or putting unnecessary strain on myself.

Personally UsedAfter my thigh lift, even ordinary bathroom routines took some figuring out. A toilet stool was one of the practical things I had ready at home.

Personally UsedWhen my friend picked me up after surgery, I discovered that climbing into an SUV was a bigger challenge than I expected! I needed a step stool to get in comfortably, so this is something I recommend having ready for your ride home or at home, not packing in your suitcase.

Antiseptic Hand Cleansing Foam
Personally UsedI used this cleansing foam to wash my hands and keep them clean while I was recovering at home. I did not use it to clean my surgical incisions.

Personally UsedI kept an antiseptic skin cleanser at home for my dressing-change routine, following the instructions I had been given. Always check with your own surgeon before using any cleanser on or around healing incisions.

High-Waisted Shaping Capris
Personally UsedOnce my surgeon cleared me to stop wearing my surgical compression garment, I still wanted something that would help keep everything feeling snug and supported. These high-waisted shaping capris offer light compression, smooth my tummy, and shape my legs without feeling like surgical compression. I’ve really enjoyed wearing them!

Women’s Swim Capris, UPF 50+
Personally UsedLiving in the Southwest, so many activities revolve around pool time! After my thigh lift, I wanted to enjoy the water without worrying about my scars getting darker from sun exposure. These UPF 50+ swim capris give me extra coverage, and they’ve been working really well for me.

Personally UsedDon’t laugh, but after my facelift, I wanted to enjoy the pool without exposing my healing scars to the Southwest sun. My solution? I wrapped a black tank top around my head to cover the sides of my face and the scars near my ears, then topped it off with this wide-brim straw visor! It was adjustable, stayed snugly in place, and worked beautifully for my rather creative poolside outfit. Sometimes you just have to improvise!
